Gerald Harmon, MD, immediate past president, AMA, and family medicine specialist in South Carolina, discusses the heartbreaking realities of gun violence in America—and the impact it has on the health care workforce. During the November Interim Meeting of the House of Delegates, the American Medical Association adopted policy to establish a task force focused on firearm violence prevention, including firearm-involved suicide.
