OneNeurology, with WHO Non-State Actor partners the MS International Federation (MSIF), the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE), and Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI), and the support of the Italian Ministry of Health, has successfully secured WHO approval to host an official side event during the World Health Assembly in Geneva, entitled “Delivering on Brain Health: Implementing IGAP and the Political Declaration on NCDs.”

The event will take place at WHO Headquarters in Geneva on Friday, 22 May, from 13:00 to 14:20.

Neurological conditions are the leading cause of ill health and disability worldwide, yet they remain under-prioritised within national NCD strategies and health system planning. This event will examine how Member States and partners can translate these global commitments into concrete national implementation. Drawing on findings from the WHO Global Status Report on Neurology (2025), the discussion will highlight gaps in workforce, financing, essential medicines, rehabilitation, and integration into Universal Health Coverage frameworks.
